Dart is almost a bullseye, Dallas Morning News, Nov. 10
o The exterior of the all-new Dart, while crisp and well-proportioned, was overshadowed by the gray-and-white interior whose bold color scheme looked like something you might find in a 1959 Olds 88, the Dallas Morning News said. Gray leather covered the steering wheel, and the seats were wrapped in luxurious-looking pleated white leather in gray shells - they looked great in a $25,000 economy sedan, the article said. The Dart rides on a solid platform; the steering was lively and quick - it turned into corners crisply with minimal body motions, the article said. While the Dart moved with a Euro-tautness most of the time, it maintained a long-legged composure over big bumps that belied its econo-car roots, the paper said. If performance is less important to you than utility, style and fuel economy, then your sedan has probably arrived, the Dallas Morning News said.
2012 Rubicon lives up to its name, Montreal
Gazette, Nov. 11
o The Wrangler is a big sandbox toy that makes perfect sense the farther off the beaten path you go, the Montreal Gazette said. The interior is far more refined and comfortable than the exterior would lead you to believe: The front seats are well padded and supportive and the dashboard is simple and concise with large dials, gauges and knobs, the article said. The Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited is an incredibly capable off-road vehicle that deserves to take its name from the infamous trail, the article said. Driving in urban turmoil, the high seating position offers good visibility and the Rubicon suspension handles the worst roads, the article said. The extra power is very welcome in stop-and-go situations on and off the road, the article said. The rear seat passengers have comfortable seats with a good view, the Montreal Gazette said.
Journey, Grand Cherokee among top 20 family
haulers,
Sympatico.ca, Nov. 7
o Sympatico.ca tested every vehicle for families on the go and found the best:
2012 Dodge Journey: "There are
almost too many clever, family-friendly, features to name - the rear doors
open a full 90-degrees for easy loading of toddlers, there's handy little
storage bins in the second row floor which double as coolers, the second row
seats slide fore, aft and recline, the second row cushions can be ordered as
built-in booster seats, the front passenger seat has under cushion storage
and it folds flat for hauling extra-large cargo. Versatility is offered in
spades.
2013 Jeep® Grand Cherokee: Standard Grand Cherokee utility is on offer here, which is to say that this SUV packs enough cargo capacity for a family weekend away and comfortably seats five adults when not stowing your gear.
Ram doesn’t get dragged down, Autonet.ca, Nov. 7
o The grille shutters located behind the Ram 1500 grille automatically closer or open to take full advantage of air flow for engine efficiency, Autonet.ca said. Shutter systems work automatically, opening when needed, and closing when possible in order to decrease drag, the website said. Travelling at highway speeds the shutters stay closed, directing airflow around the vehicle and reducing drag; sitting in traffic, travelling uphill or when pulling a trailer, the shutters open up in order to allow air to flow into the engine compartment in order to cool the engine, the article said. It looks like a growing number of manufacturers are going to jump on the shutter wagon - look for active grille shutter system in the 2013 Dodge Dart and Ram 1500, the article said.
Jeep® Patriot Freedom Edition a tribute to
America's military,
Autoblog, Nov. 12
o Jeep® is honoring Veterans Day with a new special edition version of its 2013 Patriot, Autoblog said. Appropriately enough, the Freedom Edition comes in only red, white or blue, and boasts a star graphic on the hood and rear quarter panels, the website said. Chrysler says the Freedom Edition "honors military members past and present," and as such, the automaker will donate $250 for each Patriot Freedom Edition sold to military charities, the article said. The automaker debuted the Wrangler Freedom Edition this year just in time for the Fourth of July, Autoblog said. Other articles of interest:
